Roger Roderick

Roger Roderick, 77, of Deer Park, MD, died on Tuesday, April 6, at his residence from a tragic house fire.

Born on July 6, 1943 in Oakland, MD, Roger was the son of the late Stanley and Mabel Roderick. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Diana of Keyser, WV.

Roger was a U.S. Army veteran, painting contractor, and stable manager with success in all endeavors. He was known for his quick wit and love for challenging conversations. Roger was also recognized by the Make-A-Wish foundation for providing horse riding experiences free of charge to thankful young patients. Roger put a smile on many faces when providing horse riding experiences in the lovely Garrett County, MD area. He shall be sincerely missed by many of those he encountered during his time with us.

Per Rogers’s wishes, he will be cremated and place in the Moon Cemetery on Bethlehem Road in a private ceremony. A celebration of life may be planned at a later date.
