Paul Karalewitz

Piedmont, WV

Paul Karalewitz, 66 of Piedmont passed away on June 7, 2022 at his residence.

Born September 26, 1955, he was the son of the late Paul and Naomi (Martin) Karalewitz. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Erica Karalewitz; and sisters, Carolyn Phillips and Dixie Taylor.

Paul was a 1974 graduate of Bruce High School. He was the Chief of Police for the City of Piedmont for 32 years. He was also previously employed with the WV State Police Communications, the Hampshire County Sheriff’s Department, as well as a Resource Office at Keyser High School.

Paul loved sports, and was a New York Yankees fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Many nights Paul and his wife, Sandy stayed up late eating popsicles. He was a loving husband who will be greatly missed.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Sandy Karalewitz; his siblings, Mark Karalewitz and wife Bridgett, Dale Karalewitz and wife Brenda and Cheryl Hanlin. He is also survived by his in-laws, Bill Dawson and wife Christine, Debbie Nesmith and husband Leo, Chuck Dawson and wife Gerri; several nieces and nephews; and his dog companion, Max.

In accordance with his wishes, Paul will be cremated and services will be held at a later date.
