Mark Courtney Snyder, 66, of Westernport, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home in Westernport surrounded by his family.

He was born in Keyser, WV on October 10, 1954 and was the son of the late Charles “Babe” Snyder and Maxine (Wilson) Snyder.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Diane (Proffitt) Snyder who passed away on January 31, 2018 and was the daughter of the late Frederick L .Proffitt and Velma (Phillips) Proffitt.

Mark is survived by three daughters, Kristie Hamilton and husband Shawn of Westernport, Carlee McNeal and husband Mark of Hagerstown, and Courtney Morton and husband Jeremy of Westernport.  Lovingly known by his grandchildren as "Pappy", Mark leaves behind Delaney McNeal, Indiana McNeal, Finnigan McNeal, Everlee McNeal, Lennon Morton and Cameron Hamilton.  He also has three step-grandchildren Haley Pacheco, Taylor Hamilton, and Anthony Hamilton, and three step-great grandchildren Aubree Skaggs, Dominic Pacheco, and Aliana Stone.  He is also survived by one older brother, Lowell Snyder and wife Gloria of Bloomington, one sister Debbie Zais and husband Marvin (who was also a remarkably close friend of Mark’s) of Westernport, and a younger brother Scott Snyder of Westernport; brother-in-law Allen Proffitt of Westernport and sister-in-law, Cindy Shumaker and husband Don of Westernport. Mark also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

Even though the family is experiencing much sadness, they are also imagining the joy that their parents have found in being reunited.
