It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kyle Robert McKee on November 12, 2020 at the age of 35.

Kyle was one of the five U.S. soldiers who died when their UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Sinai, Egypt on November 12. The soldiers were participating in a Multinational Force and Observers deployment, part of routine efforts to supervise conditions of the Egyptian-Israeli Treaty of Peace. He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Lauren (Nikki Montgomery) McKee. He is also survived by his three children, sons Jackson and Canaan and newborn daughter Isla; his parents, Steve and Roberta (Yarshen) McKee, his brother Shane from Leroy Township, OH and sister Lisa Stone, husband Walt from Chesterfield, VA. Kyle was the Uncle to Henry, Peyton, Rocco and Evelena. He leaves behind an extended family in Indiana, Colorado and California and many friends around the world.

Kyle was born on February 14, 1985 to Steve and Roberta McKee. He grew up in LeRoy Township and went to Riverside High School in Painesville. Kyle enlisted in the U.S Army in 2003. He previously served tours in Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq. Kyle was a flight engineer and a flight and safety instructor at the USASOC ( United States Army Special Operations Command) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina before deploying to Egypt in June 2020. Kyle has a long list of accolades that include the Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, the Combat Action Badge, Senior Aircrew Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 1-4 pm at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport MD. A COVID appropriate buffet dinner for family and friends will be held Saturday evening at 6 pm at Turkey Flight Event Center, 12801 Ali Ghan Rd NE, Cumberland, MD 21502.  There will be a funeral service held on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at 1 pm at the Boal Funeral Home with a military honors service following at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laurel Hill Cemetery Rd, Barton, MD 21521.
