Janet Ridings

Janet Marlene Ridings of Piedmont passed away on April 9, 2020 at Moran Manor Nursing Center.

Born June 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Nellie (Gerrard) Grove. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James F. Ridings, Jr. and her sister, Mary Ann Crawford.

Janet was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School. She loved the Christmas season and enjoyed decorating for the holiday. She liked to play cards with her family. Janet especially treasured her yearly beach trip with Rhonda and the girls.

Janet is survived by her children, Jay Ridings and wife, Kim of Westernport, MD, Michael Ridings of Piedmont and Kelley Sawyers and husband, Dean of Piedmont. She is also survived by her siblings, Ellen Lee Metz and husband, Glenn of Barton, MD and Stephen Grove of Piedmont. Janet is also survived by her grandchildren, Jesse Ridings, David Grady II, Shayla Ridings, Justin Ridings, Lacey Sawyers, Alex Ridings, Dylan Ridings, Michael Sawyers II; her step grandchildren, Candy, Kevin and Cody Smith; and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Fred Crawford; special sister-in-law, Connie Evans; numerous nieces and nephews and several of her good friends.

In accordance with her wishes, Janet will be cremated.

A memorial service honoring Janet will take place at a later date.
