Ginger Brashear

October 8, 1944 — December 12, 2020

Westernport

It's with broken hearts that we announce the departure of our beloved mother, Ginger Carol Brashear on December 12, 2020.

Mom was born October 8, 1944 in Keyser, WV. She was the daughter of the late Betty Brashear, and granddaughter of the late Bill and Erma Brashear Jose of Westernport, Md.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Knisley, and her grandson, Greyson Van Hartman.

She is survived by her children, Pamela (Joe Bob) Lawrence, Diana Green and John (Tonya) Hartman. Mom loved each of her grandchildren with all her heart: Jodi Green (Adam Harding), Jessica (Josh) Mclaughlin, Michael Lee II, Michael (Becky) Green, Shayla Hartman (Adam Lee), Johnny Hartman III, Cole Hartman and baby Hartman due in July.  Mom loved her great-grandchildren so very much: Ceara Cosner (Kyle), Jenna Harding, Elijah Mclaughlin, Jaden Roberts and Jadalyn Hartman. She truly loved her step-children and grandchildren with all her heart: Jake Hartman and Kim Heavener and their children Tonya, Mandy, Jake, Charity and Scotty. Moms siblings were like her children to her. She always worried about them and loved them dearly: Connie Mckenery (Kenny Wilt), John Jose (Kathy) and Jake (Carolyn) Jose. Mom had MANY nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends that will miss her dearly. She will be sadly missed Her life long best friends Ila (Crumbaugh) Mayhew and  Mary Anderson. Moms life was a living example of the Bible verse Ephesians 4:32: "and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another just as God also forgave you in Christ".

Mom was raised as a coal miners granddaughter and she was so proud of her heritage. Her door was always open, a bed available and coffee a brewing. She was known as a great cook but especially for her egg sandwiches and her deer steak/gravy and mashed potatoes. Our loving Mother will be missed forever and a day! God broke the mold when he made our "Mommy Dearest"!

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Saturday the December 19th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A service will take place following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Mother’s Day 2021.
