Elaine Frances (Farrell) Green, 78 of Bloomington passed away on July 24, 2020, at Egle Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.

Born June 1, 1942, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Irene (Corrigan) Farrell. She was also preceded in death by her in laws, Margaret and Gordon Green, her sister, Mary Jane Ralston, her brother, James Farrell Jr., and her special sister in law, Kay Ann Lannon.

Elaine went to St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Midland, St. Peter’s Catholic School, Westernport, and Valley High School, Lonaconing. She earned her GED later in life, enjoyed working at Green’s Restaurant, and later decided to go to college while raising three boys. She graduated from Allegany Community College in 1980 with an Associate in Arts Degree in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse.  She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital, Potomac Valley Hospital, Moran Manor Nursing Home, and retired in 2004 from Egle Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where she served as a greeter, a Lector, and a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Peter’s Bereavement Committee, and Bible Study Group.  Elaine spent a lot of her time participating in various activities at St. Peter’s Church and really enjoyed the time she spent with all the members of the Bereavement Committee. She was a member of three Bridge Clubs, was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending summers on the river with her family.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gordon Green Jr., her three sons, David (Cindy), Eric (Monica), and Allan (Casey), her brother, David Farrell (Ellen) and sister, Irene Folk (Dale), and Brother in Law, Bob Lannon. Her five grandchildren; Drew, Shane, Kaitlyn, Myrissa, and Allan. Her five great grandchildren; Landyn, Sophia, Elaynah, Sam, and Riley.  Nieces and Nephews; Catherine, James, Deanna, Dale, Tricia, Kelly, Jennifer, Teresa, and Bobby.  She is also survived by lifelong friend of 70+ years, Thomasine Weir and husband Allan, and their children; Pam, Terri, and Allana, whom she loved and adored as her own daughters; and special friends Patsy Kenealy and Linda Lee.

Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Wednesday, July 29th from 4 to 8 p.m.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Divine Mercy Parish- St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Westernport with Father Edward Hendricks and Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.

With respect to current health concerns and state regulations at this time, face coverings must be worn and social distancing practiced.

Inurnment will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Westernport.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the administration and staff at Egle Nursing Home who went above and beyond to provide the best possible care, showed compassion, and professionalism during Elaine’s stay. We could never thank you enough. Also, thank you to the Garrett County Home Health Team who provided Physical and Occupational Therapy and the Garrett Regional Medical Center Rehabilitation Department.
