Dennis Carpenter

Dennis A. “Denny” Carpenter, Sr. of Westernport passed away on July 31, 2021 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born May 24, 1955, he was the son of the late William and Norma (Clark) Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Billy Carpenter.

Denny was a 1973 graduate of Bruce High School. He attended Bruce Outreach Center and the Westernport First Baptist Church. Denny was a dedicated employeefor Moran Coal Company for 43 years. His spare time was spent hunting, gardening and attending car shows.A proud “Pap”, he loved taking his girls camping and swimming and he always enjoyed family game and movie nights.

Denny is survived by his wife of 21 years, Barbara Carpenter; his children, Brooke Martin, Brittany Martin, Dennis Carpenter, Jr. and Ashley and Bobbie McIntyre and husband Christian. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Destiny Warnick, Amiya Martin, Grace McKone, Kaiden McKone and BrynnaMcIntrye. Denny is survived by his best friend and brother Jeff Carpenter and wife, Melodie, siblings,Mary Ann Symons, Donna Farris and husband, Andy and Julie Liller and husband, Mike; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richy White and wife, Vicki, Melvin White and wife, Anna, Steve Guy and Virginia Duckworth and husband, Dewey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Billy Jo Guinn and Dave Brashear.

Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Wednesday, August 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Cowan officiating.

Interment will be at Bloomington Cemetery.
