Westernport

Chonita Cardeno, 80, of Westernport, passed away on December 10, 2020 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born on January 3, 1940 in Dapitan City, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Constancio and Bienvinida (Obordo) Quizo. Also preceding her in death is her husband, Manuel L. Cardeno, and daughter, Evangeline Nahine.

Chonita was a woman of many hobbies. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking and frequently humming wherever she was and no matter what she was doing. She had a laugh you could pick out of a crowd. Chonita was very caring and loved being around people, helping them out however she could. She was a member of the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Keyser and enjoyed attending services. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.

Chonita is survived by her seven children, 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way, along with 9 siblings.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
