William LeRoy “Pistol” Cavey, 84, of North Branch Ave, Bloomington, passed away Friday January 5, 2018 at his residence.

Born May 26, 1933 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Andrew Francis and Mary Ellen (Lee) Cavey.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruth (Bosley) Cavey, two sisters, Helen Hamilton, and Norma Lee Umstot, three brothers, Olin Cavey, Andrew Cavey and Robert Eugene “Rambo” Cavey.

LeRoy was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.  He was a retired coal miner having worked for D & L Coal Company.  LeRoy attended Savage River Full Gospel Church and was a member of Kelley Mansfield Post #52 American Legion, Piedmont, WV.

He leaves behind two sons, Terry LeRoy Cavey and wife Susan of Bloomington, Robert Francis Cavey and wife Jeannie of Bloomington, one sister, Delores “Chip” Jones and husband Glenn of Bloomington, five grandchildren, Chris Cavey and wife Tina, Terry Cavey Jr. and wife Amanda, Andy Cavey, Jamie Cavey, and Niki Cavey and fiancé Daniel Dyke.  He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Lilly Marie Dyke, Daina and Breanna Cavey, Brittany and Brycin Cavey.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM.  A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 PM, with Rev. Thomas Matthews officiating.

Interment will be at Bloomington Cemetery at a later date.
