Willard M. Tichnell, 78, of Antioch, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.
Born October 29, 1938 in Swanton, MD, he was the son of the late Irvin Stanley and Edith (Taylor) Tichnell. He was also preceded in death by his former wife in 1986, Joann Taylor Tichnell, two step daughters, Karen Bush and Donna Swisher, four brothers, Irvin Tichnell Jr, Cleaver Tichnell, Walter Tichnell and Raymond Tichnell.
Willard enjoyed spending time traveling with his wife of 26 years, Rosemary, looking for bears. You could call them bear watchers. He was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in Newark, DE, having 35 years of service. He was a member of Antioch Church of God.
He leaves behind his wife, Rosemary (Francis) Tichnell, his children, Willard Irvin “Bill” Tichnell, Carol Martin and husband John, Raymond McNemar and wife Patty, Allan McNemar, and James McNemar, five grandchildren and his sister, Hazel Jenkins of Grantsville, MD.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Wednesday, December 21st from 11 AM to 1 PM, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, with Rev. Johnny Goldizen officiating.
Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
