Walter Lee Miller, 69, of Spruce Street, Westernport passed away on March 17, 2014 at his residence.
Born September 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Andy and Bessie (Braithwaite) Miller. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Sue Miller, and a brother, James Miller.
Mr. Miller was a Veteran of the Army National Guard. He was retired from Mead Westvaco, having been an equipment operator in the wood yard. He was a member of the Upper Potomac Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved to watch NASCAR and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved spending time with his grandchildren going to their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Moorehead) Miller of Westernport; sons, Michael Miller and wife Kim of Ridgeley, WV and John Ryan of Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Kathy Beverage and husband Kenny of Westernport and Wendy Wilson and husband Charlie of Westernport. He is also survived by his special grandchildren whom he adored, Haylee and Ryan; a sister Betty Scott of Annapolis; nephews David, Walt, and Tommy Scott of Annapolis and numerous other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend, Paul Wilson of Bloomington.
Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. Gary Morris officiating.
Interment will be at a later date in Bever Cemetery, Backbone Mountain.
