Virginia M. "Ginny" Poland

Virginia M. “Ginny” Poland, 94 of Luke passed away on March 29, 2021 at Sterling Care Frostburg Village.

Born on June 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Penford) Myers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James G. Poland; and her siblings, Roberta M. Stafford, Donald R. Myers, Josephine M. Chevalier and Martha J. Myers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Virginia was a member of the Barton American Legion Post #189 Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Chapter of the Eastern Star. For many years she was an aerobics instructor and a line dancer with the Senior Swingers and the Allegany County and Western Dance Club. Virginia was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan, she always cheered them on.

She is survived by her daughter, Jemma Crowe and fiancé, Gary Hanna; her nieces and nephews, Paula Ward and husband, Jeff, William Phelps and wife, Joan, Fred Phelps and wife, Carol, David Myers and wife, Janice and Greg Myers. Virginia is also survived by her special friend, Jackie Daum; as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Due to current health regulations, all services will be private.

The family would like to thank Sterling Care Frostburg Village for their wonderful loving care that Virginia received while she was there.
