Virginia Marie (Lee) Bennett, 69, of Westernport joined her husband in heaven on Friday, December 26, 2014.

Born in Trenton, N. J. on June 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Lee and Isabel Atkinson Amerson.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger W. Bennett, on May 18, 2014.

She is survived by her brothers, Michael Lee, Westernport and Raymond Lee, and wife Debbie, Spokane, WA., four children Sherry Wagoner and husband Doug, Charleston, SC, Lori Beeman and husband Terry, Westernport, Kenny Bennett and wife Sharon, Cresaptown, Tracy Smith and husband Billy, Bowling Green; seven grandchildren, Lee Beeman and wife Michelle, D.J. Minnick, Ryan Beeman and fiancé Erica McLewee, Derek Bennett, Evan Bennett, Eric Smith, and Erica Bennett and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a devoted wife of fifty-one years to Roger Bennett and a proud, loving mother of four children, a caring sister, and the best grammy ever to her seven grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doing crafts, and reading. Virginia was a caregiver by nature and always made time for anyone who needed her.  Most of her life was spent caring for her children, grandchildren, mother, and brother.

Virginia was raised in Piedmont, WV and attended St. Peter’s School in Westernport.  She was married in Myrtle Beach, SC. Then, she and the family moved to Camden, South Carolina and was employed by Dupont and Co. and later returned to Maryland and was employed by K-Mart until retirement.

At Mrs. Bennett’s request, her body was cremated.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home in Westernport on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating.
