On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Victor Earl Clark, Sr., 86, of Barton, MD, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior after a short battle with colon cancer surrounded by his family and friends.
Vic was born in Barton, MD, on August 27,1939. He was the son of the late Thomas and Verna Clark. He is preceded in death by his son, Alan Clark. He was also preceded in death by siblings:Tim, Dick, Marie, Amy, Paul, Darlene, Ellsworth, and Dale. He is survived by his sister, Elaine and husband, Bob, and brother, Ed and wife, Margaret.
He was a 1957 graduate of Valley High School. During school, he would often watch the coal trucks running up and down the road during class. Following a family tradition of coal miners, Vic worked at Brashear Coal Company, Winner Bros. Coal Company, Cumberland Steel, Beener Coal and finally, retired with Buffalo Coal Company. His final coal mining endeavor was when he worked for his sons, Vic and Alan, at Cobra Mining, Inc., running the dozer with an occasional nap on the job.
Vic loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, spending time with his family, and snack time at 8:00 pm sharp with a cup of hot coffee and ice cream. He enjoyed tinkering with his junk pile daily. He was a charter member and trustee of Harmony Baptist Church in Westernport, MD, and loved his church family dearly. He never left the house without a gospel tract in his pocket, ready to spread God’s Word everywhere he went.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna (Jones) Clark. Sons, Victor Clark, Jr., and his wife, Deanna, Kevin Clark and his wife, Shiuvy; daughter, Michele (Clark) Leatherman and Jeremiah. Grandchildren, Christina (Clark) Ujcic and husband, David, Brian Clark, Tasha (Clark) Murray and husband, Chris, Charity (Clark) Heisey and husband, Lehn, Preston Leatherman and fiancee, Emma, and Sadee Fairgieve. Great-grandchildren, Cambrya Clark and fiance, Jeremy, Cash Clark, Connall Murray, Amira Leatherman, Bryland Leatherman, and Coal Murray.
Vic is also survived by many loving brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Friday, March 13, 2026, with Pastor Nathan Nickerson officiating. Viewing times will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, funeral service will follow immediately.There will be no graveside service.
