Vernon Harold Miller, 91, of Rt. 1, Limestone Road, Keyser, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born January 11, 1923 in Bloomington, MD, he was the son of the late Howard and Hazel (Duckworth) Miller.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald, Elmer, Earl, Hugh, Robert, Glenn and two infant brothers, and a step sister, Mary Miller.

Mr. Miller was a United States Army Veteran, having served during World War II as a Combat Engineer in the Pacific Theatre.  He retired from Westvaco Corp. with 37 ½ years of service, having worked in the 6 and 7 Beater Room.  He was a member of Duling Methodist Church, Keyser, a member of Barton American Legion #189, Barton, MD, a member of Queens Point V.F.W. #6775, McCoole, MD, and a member of the National Rifle Association.

He leaves behind his wife Thelma (Riggleman) Miller, three sons, Vernon Miller Jr. and wife Mary Jane of Maysville, Gerald Miller of Petersburg, Jimmy Miller and wife Kim of Biloxi, MS, a daughter, Bonnie Doman and husband Manuel of Keyser, a step son, Charles Thomas Haines of Myrtle Beach, SC, ten grandchildren, Jeff, Chris, Julie, Jeremy, Rusty, Tammy, Brianna, Joel, Troy, and Keith and twelve great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 1:00 PM.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
