Timothy Jesse Cook, 60, of Keyser, went to be with the Lord, Monday, February 24, 2014 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born May 26, 1953, he was the son of the late Jesse Wilson Lee Cook and the late Vera (Fike) Cook. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Tristin Fox.
Tim was a United States Naval Veteran, having served for 9 years during the Vietnam War. He retired from New Page Paper Company, Luke, MD in April 2011. He was a member of Davis Lodge #51, Keyser, the Knights of Templar, the Ali Ghan Shrine, Cumberland, and was a Past Worthy Patron of the former Bethlehem Chapter #10 Order of Eastern Star. He was Methodist by faith and had attended the Rawlings Methodist Church. He was formerly an assistant coach for the Keyser Mini Steelers, and helped them by videotaping games and any other way he could. Tim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and just being around people and conversation. He was an avid jokester, and liked listening to the 60’s and 70’s music.
He leaves behind his wife, best friend, his world for 38 years, whom he married on April 19, 1975, Claire Cook, a son, Timothy J.W. Cook Sr., and wife Angie of Keyser, a daughter, Natalie Marie Crites and husband Brandon of Keyser, six grandchildren, Kourtney, Jess, Naylin, and Aiden Cook, and Owen and Gavin Crites.
At Tim’s request, his body was cremated.
A Celebration of Tim’s life will be held at the McCoole VFW on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 4 to 7 PM.
