Susan Deshong

Susan Myra (Myers) DeShong, 51, of McDoogle Drive, Barton, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Western Maryland Regional Center, Cumberland.

Born February 18, 1962 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Rose (Cap) Myers.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rosalie Shifflett, and an uncle and aunt, Caudy and Helen Browning.

Susan was a Geriatric and Certified Nursing Assistant.  She was a member of the Barton Rod and Gun Club.  She was also an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.

She leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Stephen DeShong Sr, a daughter, Shawnna Llewellyn and husband Dan of Lonaconing, two sons, Stephen “Bubba” DeShong Jr, and Tyler DeShong, both at home.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Cohen and Tynsley Llewellyn, a sister, Ginger Duckworth and husband Gary of Mill Run, a brother, Johnny Myers of Barton and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Saturday from 1 to 3 PM.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the Boal Chapel on Saturday.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

Pallbearers will be Jason DeShong, David DeShong, Tanner DeShong, Dan Llewellyn, Evan Phelps, and Brant Rice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Boal Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
