April 20, 1924 — October 21, 2013

Westernport

Westernport, MD

A true cowboy left this physical world to the great round up in the sky.  Stuart M. “Sam” Hahn left his physical life on Monday, October 21, 2013.  He was born April 20, 1924 in Froid, Montana to Sam and Pearl Hahn and became a “real” cowboy at the age of eight and remained one the rest of his life.  He is predeceased by his wife, Margarite, sisters, Blanche, Eva, Geneva and Carol, brother, Roger and grandson Eric David.  He is survived by his son Ron and wife Judy, grandson Ron Jr., wife Kim and great grandson Sam, great granddaughter Erica and great grandsons Paul and Dustan, great great grand daughter Kelsey and sister Romona.  He is also survived by his long time friend and caretaker for the past six years, Chuck Moorehead.

Sam retired from West Virginia Pulp and Paper after 41 plus years of service to the company.  He started in the outside maintenance gang and ended his career as a tour foreman for plant maintenance.  He was self taught on many aspects of his job and his life.  To sum it up, he was a good man and an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He is and will be missed in this worldly life.

Per the wishes of Sam, there will be no visitation or funeral and his body has been cremated.  His cremains will be buried beside his wife in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, Maryland.  Sam wanted everyone to know that he was ready to depart this life and move on to the afterlife.  May he rest in peace.
