Stella Dichiera

Stella DiChiera passed away early on August 4, 2019 at Moran Manor in Westernport, less than a mile from the home where she lived for most of her 100 years.

Much of her working life was devoted to caring for the elderly, cleaning homes and offices in Piedmont and Westernport and to the preparation of the operating room area of the Reeves Clinic on Main Street. She raised 4 children: John William, Janet Marie and Mary Virginia all of whom preceded her in death, and Glenn Norman.

Family, friends and neighbors were always welcome at the small house at 135 Main Street. She worked tirelessly and sacrificed much to make certain that her children had what they needed to be healthy and happy.

With her passing, Stella is reunited in heaven with parents, brother James, sisters Angela and Virginia and many siblings who died in early childhood. She is survived by her son Glenn and daughter-in-law Joan DiChiera from Baltimore, son-in-law Richard Myers living in Jonestown, PA, Sister Nikki Manley from Harford County, numerous nieces and nephews and many grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren.

If you have the opportunity to honor the memory of this very special woman's 100-year life, please join the family at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, August 10, for a gathering from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Westernport.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Westernport Senior Center, 33 Main St., Westernport, MD 21562, which provides Meals On Wheels and other services to the elderly in the area.
