Sonya Miller

Westernport, MD

Sonya Lee Miller, 82, of Westernport, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Myrtle Beach, SC, while living with her son and daughter.

Born June 16, 1936 in Piedmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Velma (Greenhorn) Sharon.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Forace Miller and a granddaughter, Julie Miller.

Sonya was a retired Teachers Assistant.  She was a member of Bethel Holiness Church, Lonaconing, where she was the pianist for over 31 years and formerly the pianist for 24 years at First Assembly of God, Westernport.

She leaves behind two daughters, Brenda Whitford and husband Rev. Louis of Martinsburg, WV, Linda Combs and friend David Racco of Myrtle Beach, SC, two sons, Tim Miller and wife Michele of Mt. Lake Park, MD and Paul Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC, one sister, JoAnn Parker and husband Eddie of Cumberland, nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, September 8th from 11 to 2 PM.  A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Louis Whitford officiating.

Interment will be Philos Cemetery, Westernport.

The family extends a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Myrtle Beach during her stay there and her caregiver while in Westernport, Patsy Alamong, for the care given to her during her illness.
