Shirley Lee Upperman

Shirley Upperman, 81, of Bloomington passed away on October 29, 2023 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born June 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Blackburn) McGee. She was also preceded in death by her husband Raymond R. “Dick” Upperman; son, Richard L. Upperman; sisters Betty Bowman and Mary Porter; brothers, Bobby McGee and Robert “Sonny” McGee; and in-laws, Charles and Katherine Upperman.

Shirley was once employed at Bosch and Lomb at Mt. Lake Park. She enjoyed shopping, and had a collection of hats and shoes. Shirley enjoyed painting ceramics. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her children, Donna Martin and fiancé Steve Hammond of Ocean City, Raymond Upperman and wife Karen of Rawlings; sister Geniveve Bayliss. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jodie, Rachel (Seth), Dave, Justin, Brittney (Robbie), Jeremy, and Chuckie; and her great grandchildren, Allie, Fallon, Emily, Rory, Brynlee, Raygan, Peyton, Bailey, Maddie, Layna, and Max; brother-in-law Moe Porter; and daughter-in-law Missy Upperman.

Friends will be received for a memorial gathering at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Sunday, November 5^th from 1 to 2 p.m.

A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m.
