Shirley T. Tichnell

Shirley T. Tichnell, 90 of Swanton passed away on October 15, 2025.

Born September 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Velma (Warnick) Virts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis T. Tichnell; and a sister, Wanda Taylor.  

Shirley is survived by her children, Sherry Laffey and husband, Tom, and Steve Tichnell and wife, Kim. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela Merrill, TJ Laffey and wife, Emanuela Canziani, Lewis Laffey and wife, Ana, Clint Tichnell, Lee Tichnell and wife, Kristi, and Carrie Price and husband, Jason; her nine great grandchildren, Kirsten, Kalli, Michael, Elena, Brandon and wife, Katrina, Nathan, Morgan, James and Ryan; and one great-great granddaughter, Elowyn. 

Shirley loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, and she adored all of her dogs over the years. Shirley was devoted to her family, and was affectionately known as the ruler of the roost. 

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and caregivers on the third floor at Moran Manor for the wonderful care she received during her time there. 

In accordance with Shirley's wishes, no public services will take place.
