Samuel "Rick" Amoruso

Samuel Richard “Rick” Amoruso JR., 66, of Piedmont, died on March 11, 2023.

Born December 22, 1956 in Keyser, he was the son of Elvira (Camplesi) Amoruso and the late Samuel Richard Amoruso SR. He was also preceded in death by a very special aunt, Lucretia Amoruso; and child, Donovan Amoruso.

Rick was a 1974 graduate of Bishop Walsh High School. He attended Allegany College of Maryland and Loyola College in Baltimore.

Rick’s entire life was dedicated to his faith, family, and work. He contributed his time and hard work to the success of his family-owned business, Quality Supplier Trucking and Recycling. If you were blessed to know him, you encountered the most selfless soul ever known.

Along with his mother, Elvira Amoruso, he is also survived by his children, Matthew Amoruso and Samuel “Sammy” Richard Amoruso III; two brothers, Joseph (Denise) Amoruso and Jack (Amber) Amoruso. Rick is survived by his nieces and nephews, John (Aubrey) Amoruso, Joseph (Randi) Amoruso, Tai Pope, Tiffany (Royce) Zembower, Christopher (Jessica) Amoruso, Amber (Drew) Myers, Anthony Amoruso, Sam Amoruso, Chance Neff, Vito Amoruso; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Friday, March 17th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Divine Mercy Parish - St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Westernport, MD on Saturday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Edward Hendricks as celebrant.

Interment will be at the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Westernport, MD.

The Amoruso family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to their special family friend, Lorre Kimble, and the staff at Stonerise Nursing Home in Keyser. They have gone above and beyond for Rick’s care. The Amoruso family is forever grateful.
