Ryan Smith

Ryan Joseph Smith, God’s mighty warrior, age 16, of Keyser, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 6, 2018.

Born on March 13, 2002 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of Ernie and Lynn (Preston) Smith.  He was preceded in death by his NanNan, Karen Preston, and his Pap Smith, Harry Smith Jr.

Ryan was junior at Keyser High School, Keyser, WV.  He loved playing his guitar with his mentor and special church friend, Bill Nelson.  He was also an avid fisherman and his Dad’s special fishing buddy.  He enjoyed reading, especially history and he loved nature.   Ryan was also a member of the Knobley Mountain Pickers band.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his sister, Sarah Smith, his Grandma Smith, Mary Lorraine Smith of Barton, MD, his Pap Preston, Johnnie M. Preston Sr. of Mill Run.  He is also survived by Aunts and Uncles Dave and Sherry Bittinger of Rawlings, MD, Eddie and Jennifer Smith of Keyser, WV, Uncle Johnnie Preston Jr., cousins, Tasha and Jason McIntyre, Cara Bittinger, Erin Smith, Madyson and Camden McIntyre.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Saturday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Tim Colisino, Rev. Sharon Colisino, and Rev. Robert Fazzalore officiating.

Interment will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Avilton, MD.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Smith, Troxell Warnick, Lonnie Preston, Jeremy Preston, Paul Steedman and Jason McIntyre.  Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Nelson.
