Ronald Erwin Brendlen Sr., 73, of McMullen Highway, Rawlings, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at Garrett Memorial Hospital, Oakland.

Born July 9, 1941 in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Earl Harrison and Juanita (Uphold) Brendlen.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Albert Brendlen, and two sisters, Patricia Brendlen and Dortha Lee Dawson.

Ron was a United States Army Veteran, having served from 1961 to 1965.  He was a retired auto mechanic.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, Nascar fan, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskin fan.  Ron also enjoyed bowling and baking and cooking.

He leaves behind his wife, Janet (Sweitzer) Brendlen, four children, Rhonda Brown (Jerry), Christina Disher (James), Ronald Brendlen, and Rebecca Ardis (Joey), all of Sumter, SC, and a sister, Virginia H. Virts of Keyser, WV.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jerry (Kami), Amanda (Justin), James, Stephanie (Scotty), Ciera, Jennifer, Bradley, Krista, Brittany, and Brandi, eight great grandchildren, and many special loved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at the Danville Community Baptist Church, Danville at 11:00 am with Pastor Frank Pilcher and Rev. Waco Biser officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Swanton.
