Ronald Hugh Rennie, 75 of Midland passed away on September 4, 2018 at his residence.

Born August 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Alexander and Leah Rennie.

Ronnie was a United States Army Veteran and Methodist by faith. Ronnie was retired from the Westvaco paper mill. He was a lifetime member of the Midland Volunteer Fire Company, Barton Legion Post #189, and the Midland Sportsman Club. He loved fishing and hunting, he had his own perfect fishing spot in Barnum.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Janet (Orr) Rennie of Midland; his son, Scott Rennie and longtime partner Michael Cowell of Lewes, DE. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Rennie and wife, Evelyn of Fort Ashby, WV; his sister, Bonnie Harris and husband, Jesse of Westernport; a brother-in-law, William Orr and wife, Jennie Ann of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Tuesday, September 18th from 11 am to 1 pm. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm with the Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. The Midland Fire Company and the Barton American Legion Post #189 will honor Mr. Rennie prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone. Military Rites will be accorded by the Combined Honor Guard Post #13, Cumberland.

Ronnie’s family is especially grateful for the wonderful care provided to him by all of the doctors and nurses of the Western Maryland Health System Hospice.
