Robert Paul “Friday” Walker, 74, of Keyser, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born June 24, 1940 in Keyser, he was the son of the late James G. and Hattie (Harsh) Walker.

“Friday” attended Piedmont High School.  He retired with 46 years of service from the West Virginia Department of Highways having been a mechanic.  He was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Virginia (Darr) Walker, a son, Robert Paul Walker Jr. of Lost River, a daughter, SMSgt Jennifer Bounds and husband SMSgt Wally Bounds, both serving in DC Air National Guard, Joint Base Andrews, MD, four sisters, Jean Fazenbaker of Swanton, MD, Mary Lou Stewart and husband Chuck of Charlotte, NC, Mildred Harris of Elkins, and Helen Lucas of Rockwood, PA.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Trey Walker, Jesslyn Bounds, and Lacey Walker, a daughter-in-law, Lisa Walker, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Sunday, May 10th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Monday, May 11th at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Gwen Wolford officiating.  Friends will also be received one hour prior to service on Monday.

Interment will be Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Mineral County Animal Shelter or the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
