Robert H. McIntyre, 79, of Westernport, went to be with his lord and savior at Winchester Medical Center on March 10, 2014.

Born September 21, 1934 in Westernport, he was the son of the late David G. and Tessie E. (Hockman) McIntyre. He was also preceded in death by his sister E. Louise Warnick, a brother David Milton McIntyre, and best friend and companion Idelma E. Blocher.

Mr. McIntyre attended Piedmont Presbyterian Church in his early years. He graduated from Bruce High School in 1952. Mr. McIntyre was an Air Force Veteran in the Korean conflict. He was a past commander for three years of Post 24 American Legion in Frostburg. He was a former Cumberland Police Officer. He worked at Westvaco in the 8 and 9 machine room. He retired as a manager of the LaVale Pizza Hut. After retirement, he worked for Frostburg County Landfill as an attendant. Mr. McIntyre was also an avid golfer and hunter.

He leaves behind a daughter; Rhonda Jean Young of Hartford, CT; twin sons, James R. McIntyre of Martinsburg WV and John R. McIntyre of Falling Waters, WV; Steven Todd McIntyre and his wife Julie of Farmington, MN; and Lisa Ann Blocher and companion Ozzy Osborne, who was like his daughter. He is also survived by eight grandsons, four granddaughters, nine great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews. Mr. McIntyre was the last living member of his family.

At Mr. McIntyre’s request, his body will be cremated.

A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Jennifer Webber officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD
