Robert “Mike” McCormick, born September 7, 1946, passed away on April 25, 2026, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Mike was a hardworking man, a proud military veteran who served in the National Guard, and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a 1964 graduate of Valley High School and retired from CSX as a bridge inspector. He then fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a tractor-trailer. He spent his life caring for and providing for his family.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years, Gail (Barnard) McCormick; his daughter, Michelle Green and Brian; his son, Michael McCormick and Chanda; his grandchildren, Evan Green, Adam Green, Carly Metz and Meshach, Macklin McCormick, and Lilly McCormick; and his great-grandchildren, Theo and Lyra.
He is also survived by his sister, Pat Haines and Dave; his cousin, Norm Guthrie, who was more like a brother and Margie; his close friend, Larry Russell; his sisters-in-law, Carla Boone, Sue Barnard, Debbie Hartman, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Pixie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Oris McCormick, and his dogs, Benji, Daisy, and Princess.
Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Boal Memorial Chapel, 19006 Legislative Road, Barton, MD with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Tom Morgan.
