Robert Johnson

February 24, 1963 — February 8, 2024

Barton, Maryland

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Johnson, who embarked on to his next journey on February 8, 2024 at the age of 60. He went peacefully at Moran Manor in Westernport, with his family by his side.

Born on Feb. 24th, 1963, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Judith Johnson and the late Wilbur “Gashouse” Johnson.

Bob grew up in the Meadow of Barton, and was a 1981 graduate of Valley High School.

Growing up, Bob enjoyed spending time at the Patch Gun Club with his brothers, father, and grandfather “Farmer Johnson”, where they would often go pigeon shooting. If you knew Robert, you probably remembered him for how good of a shot he was. Bob was a dog lover who treated Abe and Lincoln (clever right), as his own children.

Bob was an extremely hard worker. He worked at Kessler Lumber yard most of his life. Bob then became a greenkeeper at Fore Sisters Golf Course. He was known for putting unique mowing designs all over the golf courses fairways. He built special relationships with all of the golfers there. In most recent years, he helped his nephew, Seth Johnson start up Johnson’s Lawn Care business. Bob was determined to help his nephew’s new business become successful in any way he could, that is just the man he was. Any job Bob had, they were lucky to have him and he was an irreplaceable worker.

Along with his mom, Judy, Bob is also survived by his long time partner, Melondy Bostjancic. As well as step daughters, Hali and Megan, whom he raised as his own.  His siblings, Gaye Smith (Chris), Sheila Lewis (Joe), Gary Johnson (Amy), Bruce Johnson (Melinda), Eric Johnson (Carlie); his nieces and nephews; Brandi, Jamie, Brooke, Jodie, Maggie, Carlie, Adam, Casey, Laci, Emily, Lacy, Seth, Leighton, and Emrick. As well as his many great nieces and nephews. Bob also had two grandson Ryker and Ezra and a special little granddaughter that he cherished with all his heart, Delylah. They will miss each other dearly.

Friends and family will gather at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Sunday, February 11th from 1-4, a service will follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.

The family would like to thank Moran Manor of Westernport and the Hospice team of UMPC for making Bob’s final days so peaceful and for helping our family cope.
