Robert Paul Cleveland, 80, of Hammond St, Westernport, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Born December 1, 1934 in Piedmont, WV, he was the son of the late Olen Cleveland and the late Dorothy (Brown) Cleveland Raye. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Philip Josiah Bartlett, six brothers, Jim, Boyd, Ronnie, Donnie, Dick, and Ike, and two sisters, Barbara and Yvette.
Bob served in both the United States Army and United States Navy, during the Korean War. He was retired from Westvaco Corp., having worked in the finishing department. He was also a well-known award winning wild fowl wood carver.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Anne Lee (Clark) Cleveland, his children, Debra Drobish and husband David of Mt. Savage, Rhonda Symons and husband Deven of Westernport, Robert Cleveland Jr and wife Laura of Columbus, OH, Dee Ann Bartlett and husband Philip of Short Gap, WV, his grandchildren, Shelby Nelson and husband Michael, Ashley Blocher and husband Wayne, Whitney Drobish, Destiney Critchley, Kelly Cleveland, Kate Cleveland, Robert Cleveland III, Carrie McDonald, Cassie Bartlett, Justin Bartlett and wife Heather, Erika Whetstone, Philip Whetstone, Matthew Whetstone, Jacob Nelson, Ethan Blocher, Kaylee Blocher, Nicole Kennel, Cavin Kennel, Colette Bartlett, and a great-great granddaughter, Adrianna Whetstone. He is also survived by a brother, Russell Raye, and two sisters, Sharon Mayles and Olivia Powers.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday, June 15th from 12 PM to 2 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be directed to the Veterans Administration Health Clinic, Cumberland, MD.
