Richard Charles “Dick” Wilson, 75, of Maryland Highway, Swanton, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at Garrett County Medical Center, Oakland.

Born January 8, 1941 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Russell and Leona (Minick) Wilson.

“Dick” was a 1959 graduate of Bruce High School, where during his high school years he was the catcher on the baseball team and also played on the soccer and basketball teams.  He was retired after 45 years of service from Meade-Westvaco Corp, having been a millwright.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Westernport, a member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Upper Potomac Rod and Gun Club.  In his earlier years he performed with the former Blue Angel Drum and Bugle Corp. “Dick” was also an avid hunter, fisherman, four wheeler rider, family man and he never met a stranger.

He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Margaret (Nethken) Wilson, his children, Vicki Taylor and husband Gary of Lonaconing, Rick Wilson and wife Robin of Bloomington, Julie Beth Davis and husband Brian of Westernport, two step children, Cynthia Judy and companion, Gary “Bayne” Grove of Swanton, and Lisa Rene McDade of Oakland.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah (Taylor) Park and husband Mike, Gary Andrew Taylor, Jacob Lee Taylor, all of Lonaconing, Melissa Wilson and Garrett Wilson, both of Bloomington, Brandon Charles Davis of Largo, FL, Ashley Grace Davis of Keyser, WV, and Kaitlin McDade of Oakland, and his great grandchildren, Adeline Wilson, Liam Tozzolo, Brayden Park and Guthrie Wilson.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 1 to 3 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Gary Morris officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
