Richard William "Dick" Strong, Jr.

Richard William “Dick” Strong, Jr., 77, of Westernport passed away on November 14, 2024. 

Born February 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Richard and Elsie (Likens) Strong. He was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Strong; and his aunt, Vauda Taylor.  

Dick was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member and officer of the Queens Point VFW, McCoole and a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association. Dick enjoyed playing cornhole and going camping, but his favorite moments were the time he spent with his family, his daughters and his grandchildren.  

Dick is survived by his wife, Deborah (Symons) Strong; his daughters, Mischelle Malone and husband Todd and Teresa Cook and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Cody Malone, Tyler Malone, Hallie Thornton; a great grandson, Kolson Tyler Malone; and sister, Betty Jean Wright. 

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
