Rebecca Ann "Becky" Shook of Keyser passed away on June 20, 2025 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Born April 2, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Davisson) and Harry Harsbarger. She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Robert "Bob" Shook; and her mother and father-in-law, Paul Rexford and Mary Katherine (Warnick) Shook.
A dedicated educator, Becky devoted her life to teaching and nurturing the hearts and minds of her students. Her passion for education was evident in the way she engaged with her students, fostering a love for learning that they would carry with them long after leaving her classroom.
Becky had a variety of interests that brought her joy. She had a profound love for gardening, tending to her vibrant flowers, and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. Her appreciation for nature was complemented by her love of hummingbirds. Becky had a special fondness for animals and cherished the companionship of her pets. They brightened her days and were an important part of her life. Becky was also deeply connected to her Irish heritage and carried a love for Ireland.
Becky's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, former students, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Becky is survived by her daughter, Stacey Shook; her sister, Carolyn Jett and husband Bob; brothers, Rick Harsbarger and wife Christa, and John Harshbager. Becky is also survived by her nieces Candice Gustafson and Jenifer Jett; her nephews, Brett Harshbarger and Christopher Jett; her great nieces and nephew Morgan Gustafson, Wesley Harshbarger, Alleigh Harshbarger, Gabriela Jett, and Sabrina Jett; and her adopted family, Brandy Streets and Elena Streets-Buchina.
Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Tuesday, June 24th from 4 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will take place at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Wednesday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.
Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport.
