Raymond William “Billy” Shillingburg Sr., 66, of Waxler Road, Keyser, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.

Born October 1, 1951 in Beryl, WV, he was the son of the late Paul and Wanda (Beavers) Shillingburg.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Shillingburg, two sisters, Ada Everett and Nancy Hotchkiss.

Billy was retired from the United States Navy and also served with United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War and Dessert Storm.  He had a total of 21 years of service.  After his service to his country he went to work and eventually retired from Waste Management as a security guard.  He was a member of Queens Point V.F.W. #6775, McCoole, and a member of Kelly Mansfield Post #52 American Legion, Piedmont.  He was catholic by faith.

He leaves behind his wife, Linda (Ross) Shillingburg, a son, Raymond William Shillingburg Jr. and wife Celeste of Romney, a daughter, April Baker and husband John of Piedmont, two brothers, James Shillingburg of New Creek, Mike Shillingburg of Pennsylvania, and two sisters, Wana “Pete” Riggins of Piedmont and Catherine “Kack” Bennett of Keyser.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ariel Baker, Justin Shillingburg, Holden Shillingburg and his “little angel”, Isabella Shillingburg.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, October 12th from 11 AM to 1 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, with military honors accorded at graveside.
