Pearl "Pat" Slider

Pearl Louise "Pat" Slider 89, of Rawlings, Deep Creek Lake, and Goodwill Retirement Community, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Born on October 22, 1931 in Cumberland, and a resident of Moscow, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Stella (Cook) Smiley.

Loving wife of 60 years, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Martin Slider.

Patty worked for many years as a Nanny and at Barton Elementary, Allegany County Board of Education, after her own kids were grown.

She is survived by daughter, Deborah K. Skoog (Jon) of Pittsburgh and preceded in death by son, Richard M. Slider Jr.  She is the grandmother of Brittany German (Bill) of Oakland, Dustin Slider (Melinda) of Charleston, SC, Jennifer Landis Ruff (Jeff) of Nashville, TN, and Lauren Gwinn (Brenton) of York, SC.  She is also the great grandmother of Samantha and Hudson German, Jacob Slider, Ethan Presnell, and preceded in death by Rilynn German.  Her family was her biggest treasure.

Pat was first and foremost a Mom and loving Grandmother.  She truly loved spending quality time with family and friends at their cottage on Deep Creek Lake and anywhere she was in the room!  Food and fun were always plentiful.

Friends and family will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Tuesday, July 27th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Barton, MD.
