Paul Erwin Westfall, 85, of Brophytown, passed away on December 9, 2021.
Paul was the son of the late Claude and Ruth (Brown) Westfall. He is also preceded in death by his late wife, Irene Westfall; his daughter, Cindy Staggs and husband, David; three brothers; and six sisters.
Paul was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting when able and was a backyard mechanic in his spare time. Paul’s passion was guitars, his home is filled with them. He was employed with Moran’s Coal Company for 20 years. He was also employed with Westvaco, where he retired from after working there for over 20 years. He was a dear father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to have, and will be dearly missed.
Paul is survived by his lady-friend and companion, Jean Keller; his daughter, Mary Wass and husband, John; brother, Victor Westfall; and sisters, Evelyn Shingler, and Becky Harris. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John (Amanda), Andrew (Missy), Eric (Katie), and Tim (Jordan) Wass, Jeremy (Crystal), Jason (Jenny), and Brian (Trisha) Staggs; and 15 great-grandchildren. Paul is also survived by the Keller family, who cared for him and helped him in the last few years; as well as many other extended family members, friends, and neighbors.
Paul left a lasting impression on many and we will always remember him for his favorite saying, “We’re burning daylight boys!”
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday, December 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 15th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Raymond Sterling officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m.
Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
