Paul Junior Stevens, 94, formerly of E. Oldtown Road, and most recently of Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab Center, Cumberland, passed away Saturday March 19, 2016 at the center.

Born July 22, 1921 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Frank and Nellie (Durst) Stephens.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Welch) Stevens, three brothers, Richard, Denzel, and Donald Stephens, and a sister, Ardath Lupis.

Mr. Stevens was a 1940 graduate of Bruce High School.  He was a United States Army Veteran, having served from January 1943 to January 1946.  He was a member of the Third Army Corps serving in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland.  He was formerly employed by the B & O Railroad but eventually retired from Westvaco Corp.  Mr. Stevens was a member of Rawlings United Methodist Church, a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, and a member of Queens Point Post #6775 V.F.W., McCoole.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the Baltimore Orioles and enjoyed bowling, eight ball and was a horseshoe champion.

He leaves behind a daughter, Carol Kline, two foster children, Roy VanMeter and Janet Kemp and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, March 24th from 10 AM to 11 AM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral following the visitation on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Patrick Buhrman officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
