Paul Francis Detrick, 79, formerly of Piedmont and most recently of Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport, MD, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born February 26, 1938 in Garrett County, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur and Beulah (McDonald) Detrick.
Paul was well known in the area for singing “Mustang Sally” and “Johnny B. Goode” at all of the area karaoke venues and riding his bicycle everywhere he needed to go. He enjoyed morning coffee with his friends and Christmas at the Wilhelms. In his earlier years he was formerly employed by Fairfax Hauling of Piedmont.
He leaves behind his caregiver for many years, Sandra Wilhelm and husband Dale of Lonaconing and their daughter, Debbie Wilhelm
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Thursday from 3 to 5 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation on Thursday at 5:00 PM, with Rev.’s William and Ruby O’Haver officiating.
Interment will be in Gortner Cemetery, Oakland, MD, at a later date.
