Owen Lancaster

Owen Freeman Lancaster Sr., 91 of Westernport passed away on February 9, 2016 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born May 27, 1924, he was the son of the late Stanley and Jeannie (Steele) Lancaster. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Winters) Lancaster and his siblings, Evelyn Kyle, Thomas Lancaster and Imogene Stafford.

Mr. Lancaster was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran. He loved the Lord and was once a Deacon at Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Westernport and a Sunday school teacher at the Franklin Mission. He was retired from Kelly Springfield Tires where he worked in the shipping department. Mr. Lancaster enjoyed playing his harmonica.

He is survived by his children; Owen “Skeeter” Lancaster Jr. and wife Jerry of Mt. Savage, Ruth Pattison of Cumberland, Maxine Rae and husband BJ of Westernport and Stephanie Lancaster of Westernport. Mr. Lancaster is survived by a sister, Margaret Broadwater of Lavale; his grandchildren; William Pattison V, Jennifer Merling, Kimberly Lane, Daniel Pattison, Matthew Lancaster, Rachael Lancaster and Sarah Riggleman; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steffan Carr officiating.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
