Olive A. Reeves 91 of Westernport went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 28th at Potomac Valley Hospital.

She was born on July 21, 1924 in Bloomington and the daughter of the late Washington and Julia (Jones) Barnard. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Russell L. Reeves who passed away on June 14th of 2000.

She leaves behind three sons and a special grandson whom she and Russ raised. They are Russell E. (Buddy) and wife Rebecca (Smith) Reeves of Creola, Al., Robert L. (Bobby) and wife Effie of Keyser, Richard L. (Rick) and wife Carrie Reeves of Polaski County,Va. and Quint A. and wife January Reeves of Radford, Va. and seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her special "adopted" son and daughter, Virgil and Ruthie Lawrence of Rawlings. Olive was the youngest of ten children and was the last survivor of her immediate family.

She was a member of the Piedmont Pentecostal Holiness since joining there is 1948. She held several positions in the church as she was requested and never refused anything that was asked of her. She and Russ were caretakers of the church campground at Long Stretch above Frostburg for several years until it was sold by the conference. She and Russ also enjoyed sharing the gospel through music including singing with the "Joy of Living" choir. Olive for several years was head cook and kitchen leader at the Mt. Etna Youth Camp in Hagerstown, Md. and was always welcomed by a large banner with "Welcome Miss Olive" hanging across the main dining hall. Olive was also a member of the Westernport Police Department for 12 years with most of her duties being a crossing guard at the St. Peter School. She was "MOM" to many, many people all of which were a special part of her life.

At her request, her body was cremated and a memorial service will be held Wednesday May 4th at 11am at Boal's Funeral Home in Westernport, with Rev. Thomas Brackett officiating.
