Norma Jean (Maynard) Secrist, 76, of Rt. 1, Keyser, went to be with her Lord on Monday November 21, 2011.

Born April 6, 1935 in Beryl, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Lillian Rebecca (Davis) Maynard.  Her first husband, Andrew Harvey, two sisters, Martha Pearl Braithwaite and Billie Irene Armentrout, and three brothers, Russell, Norman and Carl Maynard, also preceded her in death.

Jean was employed at the Keyser Garment Company until 1970, when she quit working so she could raise her children.  She was a member of the Piedmont Pentecostal Holiness Church, Piedmont, where she served as Missions Secretary for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, William H. Secrist, five step-children whom she loved and raised as her own, Richard William Secrist and wife Rebecca of Wana, WV, Donald Allen Secrist and wife Kay of Ridgeley, WV, Patricia Drennon and husband Gary of Ohio, Sandra Richards and husband John of Texas, and Jo Ann Moore and friend Kenny Nutter of Keyser, fourteen grandchildren and two great granddaughters.  In addition Jean leaves behind two brothers, Raymond W. Maynard and wife Peggy of Keyser, and Ralph W. Maynard and wife Sherry of Barton, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she could not have gotten along without.  She loved and cared for each one.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  A funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor William O’Haver and Rev. Brock Moore officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Swanton.
