Myrtle Louise Whetzel Taylor, age 79, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Barton, MD, on March 14, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. Whetzel and Ethel Trenum Whetzel Wilson Kohne.
A 1961 graduate from Valley High School, Lonaconing, MD, Myrtle married the love of her life, Buck Taylor, on April 22, 1962. She was a loving wife and mother who was blessed by 2 wonderful children. Even though Myrtle only had 2 children of her own, from 1977 to 2013, she babysat many. She treated each of them as if they were her own, by giving love, many hugs, kisses, and pats on the bottom to all.
She is survived by her children, Tracy Taylor Nelson (Mitch), Osage IA, and Butch Taylor (Missy), Elkton, MD; 2 grandsons, Jeff Trivits (Ashley) and Zachary Taylor; 4 great-grandchildren, Justin, Dominick, Greyson, and Zoiey Trivits; 6 siblings, Gertie Custer, Barton, MD, Paul Wilson, Elkton, MD, Lawrence Wilson and Mary Mellott, both of Florida, Sara Savelle, Keyser, WV, and Alfretta Riggs, Westernport, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Taylor; daughter, Tammy; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, May 6th from 11 to 1 p.m. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Turner Cemetery at Walnut Bottom.
