Michael Jay “Mike” Windle, 56, of 216 Hammond St, Westernport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2012.
Born June 1, 1956 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Harold W. Windle and Evelyn (Dawson) Windle. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Terry W. Windle.
Mr. Windle was a United States Army Veteran. He worked at various construction and carpentry jobs. He also worked at Mastellers Coal Company, Kessel Lumber Company, American Woodmark in Hardy County, and his last employment was at Mettiki Coal Company, where he worked as an underground coal miner. He was an active member of First Assembly of God Church, Westernport, and attended regularly. “Mike” loved to hunt, fish, and spend quality time with his wife and family.
He leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Shelley (Snyder) Windle, three sons, Scott Windle and wife Christin of Westernport, Daniel Windle of Bloomington, Derek Riggleman at home, three daughters, Julia Windle-Wilt and husband Chad of Elk Garden, WV, Laura Windle and fiancée Rob Cummings Jr., of Elk Garden, WV, and Shana Riggleman at home. He is also survived by a sister, Charlotte McGowan of Midland, a brother, James Windle of Westernport, eight grandchildren, Sydney Lyons, Abbie Lyons, Aaron Lyons, Rylee Lyons, Halyee Wilt, Emily Cowan, Sarah Windle, and Logan Cummings, and two brother-in-laws, Jeffrey Snyder and wife Tonya and Bryan Snyder and fiancée Shana Washington, both of Piedmont, WV, and several nieces and nephews, and a beloved pet, Beanie Windle.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Sunday, August 19th from 2 PM to 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the First Assembly of God Church, Westernport, on Monday, August 20th at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Greg Hammond officiating.
Interment will be in Bloomington Cemetery, Bloomington.
Pallbearers will be Bryan L. Snyder, Jeffrey L. Snyder, Robert Cummings Jr., Chad Wilt, Matthew Snyder, and Lee Watson.
