Michael "Mike" Dawson

Michael Edward “Mike” Dawson, 68 of Westernport passed away at his residence on May 21, 2017.

Born December 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Lucien and Geraldine (Wilt) Dawson. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Sara Turben, Kathryn Enriquez and Benjamin Dawson.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Westernport. He was a member of the Bruce Outreach Center. He was also a member of the Upper Potomac Rod and Gun Club and the NRA. Mike worked for Moran Coal for 41 years. He was once a Cub Scout leader. Mike always enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Davis) Dawson, Westernport; his children, Michael John Dawson and his wife, Lorie, SC, Erich Dawson and his wife, Mary Lou, Swanton, and Nichole Whitfield and her husband, Sean, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Katy, Luci, Thomas, Dakota, Nevada, Ethaniel, Graysen, Logan, Elizabeth and Wray; his great grandson, Charlie; and his siblings, Sue Rotoli, FL, Paul Dawson, CO and Mary Lynn Dunne, FL.

In accordance with his wishes, Mike was cremated.

Family and friends may be received at the Bruce Outreach Center on Saturday, May 27th from 11 am to 1 pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at the Bruce Outreach Center, Westernport with Pastor Steffan Carr officiating.
