Michael Hartman

Michael K. Hartman, 60, of Westernport died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Pittsburgh.

Born on July 27, 1962 in Keyser WV, he was the son of the late Richard “Happy” Hartman and the late Ellen Hartman.

Mike graduated from Bruce High School. He worked 30 years at the Verso Paper Mill as a Boiler Operator. Most recently he was working at BSI in Frostburg. Mike was a Veteran of the United States Air Force at Det 14 1CEVG in Bismarck, N.D. Mike was a coach for the Tri-Towns Pee Wee Mudcats, Tri-Towns Little League Phillies, Tri-Towns Basketball Warriors, and the Tri-Towns Renegades. He was a member of the Piedmont Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Deborah (Hill) Hartman; his children John Michael and wife Cheyenne of Bel Air,  Bryan and wife Madison of Mount Savage, and Christopher of Westernport; sister, Vicki (Hartman) Eversole and Husband David of Ft Ashby WV; brothers, Larry Hartman of McCoole, Johnny Hartman of Phoenix AZ, Ricky and wife Dawna Hartman of  Rawlings and Steve Shockey and wife Judy of Manassas VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashlyn, Hudson, and Alyza; and also many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Monday, January 30th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 31st at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be Elijah High Cemetery, Purgitsville, WV.
