Michael R. Burke

Michael R. Burke, 79 of Florida and most recently of Grand View Apartments and Moran Manor, Westernport, passed away September 3rd at UPMC Western Maryland.  

Born in Westernport Maryland, Mike was the son of John and Lillian Miller.  Mike was preceded in death by three sisters. Barbara Clark and husband Jim (Barton MD), Janey Doolan and husband Frank (Tallahassee FL), Claudia Beeman (Barton MD) and brother John Miller (Parkville MD).  Surviving are his brother-in-law, Donald Beeman and sister-in-law, Claire Miller.

Mike also leaves behind a son, William Tapley (Dara) of Arkansas, and a daughter Sarah Saldana (Kevin) of Tallahassee FL; grandchildren Brayden Fisher, Ashton Dix, Carley Tapley, Amelia Dover, Kaylee Dover, Ariana Saldana and Sophia Saldana.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike worked most of his life for the carnival industry, traveling throughout the United States as well as several foreign countries.  He was very proud of being a carny and always spoke highly of the friends he made along the way.   Most recently he worked for Big Rock Amusements where he met lifelong friends, Angel and Justin Goodell.

Mike’s wishes were to have no services, but rather to be cremated and have his ashes shared with family members.
