Merle Edward Belcher, 70 of RR 6 Keyser went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born in Meyersdale, PA on October 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank and Jeanette (Kennell) Belcher. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tracy Belcher, a sister, Maureen Orner, a brother and special hunting buddy, Samuel Belcher, and his companion dog, Monty.
Merle was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Sam’s Point Hunting Club, Moscow, OH. He was also a member of the Local 419 and Kelly Mansfield Post 52. Merle was a man that was dedicated to his family, friends and fur babies, Buddy and Onyx. He loved hunting, cars, hugs, kisses and making others happy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Judy Ann (Rizer) Belcher; his children, Frank Belcher and wife Melanie and Dawn Bonner and husband Larry; sisters, Edna Good and husband Bill, Sandy Walker and Donna Dahl; brother James “Buzz” Belcher and wife Alice. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Barb Belcher Ellis. Merle is survived by his grandchildren, Christopher, Katelyn, Casey, Julian, Dereck, Dylan, Collin, Mackenzie, Celeste, Hayden, Bryce, Nicholas, Lexus and Makenna; great grandsons, Trace, Jordan and Slater. He is survived by his extended family, second Mom Virginia Rizer, Bill, Mike and Rodney Rizer; special kids, Amy, Kimmy, Dutch, Whitney, Ikey, Gavin, Mason and Aden; and foster son Dew Alt.
A Memorial Service will be held in Merle’s honor on Saturday, August 23rd at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
