Mary Darlene Smiley

Swanton, MD

Mary Darlene Smiley, 70 of Swanton went to her heavenly home on December 6, 2020 to be with her Lord and Savior.

Born on December 2, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary (Metcalf) Marple. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Vera Whisner, Kenneth Marple, Terrance Marple, James Marple and Cathleen Marple.

Darlene was a devout Christian who served the Lord. She was a member of the Piedmont Church of God, as well as the Loch Lynn Church of God. Darlene was a selfless person, she was always putting others first. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.

Darlene is survived by her husband, William M. Smiley, Jr. of Swanton; her son, Bill Smiley and wife, Tonya of Bloomington; and her daughter, Christa Lytle and husband, Dean of Friendsville. Darlene is also survived by her grandchildren, Teona Campbell of Huntsville, TX and Casey Lytle of Friendsville; her siblings, Doris Welch of Oakland, Maxine Shugars of Newcomerstown, OH, Geraldine “Joy” Feaster of Keyser, WV, and Leon Marple and wife, Jean of Bloomington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Skipper officiating.

Interment will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
